Happy Monday! I hope your family had a very restful, relaxing weekend after the first full week of school. Unfortunately
my sore throat got worse and I developed laryngitis over the weekend, so the kids will be having their first substitute today.
I am hopeful that I will feel much better and be back by tomorrow! In the meantime, I know they will be well taken care of
by the substitute today.
It was great to see many of you at our annual Back to School Night BBQ and classroom visitation on Friday evening! It is
always a wonderful way to start our year off -- especially having everyone join together as a united “Kings West Family”
in prayer for the upcoming school year. And, now for the news you’ve all been waiting for… WHO WON THE GUMMI
BEARS??? Kira Crane and her family had the closest guess -- 201, and there were 230 gummi bears in the jar! Yippee!
What FUN we had during Teddy Bear week! The bears that your families decorated were terrific -- what creativity!!! A highlight
of our week was sharing our Teddy Bear Picnic with our 3rd grade study buddies. We read the “Teddy Bear Picnic”
story, sang Teddy Bear songs and shared some yummy teddy bear goodies in a “picnic” outside. A big thank you
to all of you who helped provide treats for this special time!!!
Thanks for your perseverance as these little lambs become accustomed to all of the many new routines of school…Daily
Folders, homework, lunch, bathroom breaks, etc., and for your support and encouragement in these things to your little one
from home. They are catching on -- there is so-o-o-o much to learn! ***Please pay particular attention to the “HOMEWORK”
info in the “FYI this week” section of this newsletter!
Blessings to one and all,
Mrs. Anderson
