I am so very blessed that the Lord has provided me with the honor and privilege of teaching
at King's West. There is no other place I'd rather be than here loving, nurturing and teaching these precious "Special K's." This will be my 5th year teaching Kindergarten; and, to quote a popular Kindergarten
teacher phrase, "I'm still in Kindergarten, and I LOVE it!" J
I was born and raised in Idaho, and attended the University of Idaho. After
graduating I was a substitute teacher in the Central Kitsap School District, and shortly thereafter my husband's civil
service job with the Navy took us to Rhode Island for 1 1/2 years. There I worked for a communications company
and worked with their training department. A move back to Kitsap County coincided with the arrival of our
first child. Then I put my "Mom Hat" on and committed to staying home with our children. During this time I consistently
taught Sunday School for children K-6, and was the Christian Education Director for our church for 7 years.
This kept me in the thick of things with teaching and curriculum planning, etc. In 1998, the Lord took our family on
a journey to Texas for three years to work for a missions organization that planted Cell Churches in the 10/40 Window. As
surely as the Lord took us there, He brought us back in early 2001. How excited our family was to return to the Bremerton
area and to the King's West family! I began substituting at King's West and was elated when the Lord provided
me with the opportunity to teach Kindergarten, beginning in the fall of 2001!
The Lord has richly blessed me with a wonderful family. My husband works as
an electronics engineer, and I have three children who all attend King's West.
In my free time my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. We enjoy relaxing in
our hot tub, playing games, camping, and beachcombing. I love to scrapbook and read. My favorite color is blue.
My favorite food is anything CHOCOLATE!!!
The Lord has given me a passion to work with children and to help them realize how
very specially they have each been created. This is my heart's desire as I teach and nurture each "Special
K" in our Kindergarten Family.
In His Love and Service,
Barb Anderson
